Snow at VA Beach!

Our first VA Beach blizzard is upon us! I personally didn't believe the weather man because we normally just get rain being so close to the ocean. They are known for closing school and businesses before the first snowflake even falls. Today however, we woke up to 7 inches of snow - and it just keeps coming. They expect a total around 1 foot! This is the first serious snow fall since Nate and I have lived here. We got some good use out of Aubrey's baby snow suit today. Aubs has a bit of a cold so I didn't want her out too long. It was fun being snowed-in & cuddling up today, but we might go stir crazy if it doesn't melt soon :)

Busy Aubs

Aubrey has been crawling for about a week now. I didn't want to officially announce it until Daddy got home from Florida and saw her in action! She's been busy moving all around the house and has also started pulling up on things. We have to keep a close eye on her now because her favorite thing to play with is electrical cords! She has a radar and goes directly for anything that is not a toy! Another milestone - Aubrey cut her first tooth (on Jan 20th for baby book purposes!). She hasn't been fussy during the day but it has kept her up at night a little bit. I would be crying too if a tooth was poking thru my gums.

Here is a short video I took on one of the earlier days she put her crawl together. I am still working on my video skills:)

8 Months!

I can't believe Aubrey is 8 months old today! I started crying last night when I was rocking her thinking about how fast she has grown. I know she won't be like this for long (as the Darius Rucker song states:) so I make a point to cherish and appreciate the everyday moments I have with her.
This past month Aubrey has been....

*Moving from laying to sitting up on her own.
*Crawling, right now she seems to prefer the scoot over the crawl. I don't know if its official crawling but its pretty darn close.
*Eating lots more foods (prunes, zucchini, avocado, oatmeal, apples, pears, potatoes, and apricots to name a few). I really enjoy making her baby food and knowing exactly what she is eating. My Aunt bought me the Beaba Babycook from Williams Sonoma and it is awesome! Its a steamer, blender, warmer, and defroster in one.
*Had her first cold (this was not very fun)
*Signing "Milk." At this point she uses the milk sign for anything she wants but I am excited that she is at least picking it up.
*LOVES playing fetch with Reba. She laughs and laughs and gets really excited about it. She has also learned how to pet Reba.
*Loves to dance with Mommy!
*Her favorite book is Llama Llama Red Pajama. Most books she loses interest in quickly (would rather eat the book) but for some reason this book keeps her eyes locked on the pages the entire time!
Here are a few pics I took today to mark Aubrey's 8 month birthday. She was all bundled up in her winter outfit and then had a poop explosion and therefore only has her winter hat on!
Thanks for cleaning me Mom, sorry for the mess!

I just love Reba (I think it might be her first word:)

Go Cowboys!

With the playoffs starting, there is no better time for a post about America's Team! We are HUGE Cowboys fans, so when we were in Texas for Christmas we planned on going to the new Texas Stadium (aka Jerry World) to get a tour. Turns out they were sold out of tours for the next 10 days straight! We were shocked that Jerry would turn away some easy $$. So we walked around the Pro shop, got a couple souvenirs, and snapped a few pics. Even though we didn't get to see the world's largest HD TV, we are determined that Aubrey will become a Cowboy fan like her parents! Go Cowboys!

Hanging with Daddy in the pro-shop

Mom posing with Troy. Funny memory....when I was in middle school I went to Troy's house with a bunch of my friends. He opened the door in his boxers and we squealed! We tried to get an autograph but he said he couldn't do that at his house. Poor guy we were really annoying I am sure! Aubrey loves to watch Romo and Witten!

Plank

Okay so I have never posted a video on blogger and today I impressed myself and figured out how! Now if I could just figure out how to edit the video I have taken. Anyways.....Nate left today for training in Florida and I took a few videos of Aubs working on her crawl/scoot for him. She has been rocking back and forth on her knees for about two weeks now and most recently figured out how to push off with her legs and scoot across the floor (forwards and backwards), so scooting has been her preferred travel method. However, today I saw her take her first crawl attempts and caught it on video. The best part is the PLANK that she does about 30 seconds into it. She must be paying attention to mommy at stroller aerobics. I couldn't believe it, yes I am a first time mom:) Okay check it out, its not too long. Please excuse my annoying voice. Aubs was very serious in this video Ill try to get another one with her talking and laughing!

White Christmas

We are back home from our Christmas Road Trip! Sorry for not posting in so long but I decided to take a break from the computer while we were on vacation:) We had a wonderful time in Texas celebrating the birth of our Savior with family. I couldn't believe it, but for the first time I can remember we had a white Christmas in Dallas! I remember bragging to my friend Tiffany because it was 70 degrees & sunny and the next thing I knew it was snowing like crazy! -that's Texas for ya! We really missed my dad who is working in Baku, Azerbaijan and Nate's brother Ben in the Netherlands. Here are a few pics from Aubrey's first Christmas.

Gram and Gramps house on Christmas Eve, I cant believe the snow stuck for a few days!
Before Christmas Eve church service. We made it down the street but the snow was crazy and icy roads were getting bad so we went back home... later we found out it got cancelled!

Aubrey and her new pink pony - Santa and the Grandparents spoiled her! Just as predicted, Aubrey loved the wrapping paper and bows most of all! Kisses from Gramps
Kisses for Daddy Reading & playing with NanaGram and her Grand Babies!
Aubrey started rocking back and forth on her knees this Christmas, she will be crawling any day now. We better start baby proofing:)
