Happy Halloween!

Last year Aubrey looked like this on Halloween...
And this year she looks like this....

Fastest year of our life!!!! I am going to try and get some pictures of her trick-or-treating for Daddy to see. I have a feeling that is not going to be easy so I snapped these this morning before church.
Happy Halloween from the Michael family!

More pumpkins

This afternoon we had a few friends over to play and paint pumpkins. I realized that carving a pumpkin at Aubrey's age just isn't going to work so painting was the next best thing.  This was Aubrey's first experience with paint, the first thing she did when I squirted the paint onto the paper plate was scoop it into her mouth like it was pudding. She quickly realized it wasn't a plate of food and gave a very funny face! We had lots of fun with our friends and are ready for Halloween!
Aubrey working on her pumpkin. We like abstract art at our house:)

Laci and Tegan, you should have seen Tegan at the end, she had the most fun painting that's for sure!!

What's a Halloween party without pumpkin muffins??

More art work we did. Stole this idea from a friend who posted it on FB!

Hannah is ready to paint!

Aubrey was painting with one hand and eating with the other, what a multitasker!

On the bandwagon

LET'S GO RANGERS!!! BEAT SAN FRANCISCO!
Thanks Gram & Gramps for getting me some Ranger gear!! (They even went to the store and stood in line at 10:30pm right after the Rangers beat the Yankees!)

#1 FAN (She still however loves the Cowboys , no matter their record!)

This is Aubrey's "Oh no you didn't" expression. Lets pretend a neighbor walked by wearing a SF shirt!

Pumpkins & Friends

Today I took Aubrey to Hunt Club Farm with a big group of her friends from stroller aerobics. We did a hay ride, saw lots of animals at the petting farm, and played in a pumpkin patch. Aubrey was on her own program today and didn't want to cooperate for pictures (this is getting to be the norm the closer she gets to age TWO!). We had a great morning at Hunt Club with our friends and we are both ready for an afternoon nap now!
Some of the kids looking at the baby goats. They were adorable!

Looking at more animals

Aubrey running away from the camera, I got a workout chasing her around today!

Aubrey had to wear her boots and jean dress for a day at the farm!

She liked picking up the small pumpkins and throwing them, geez!

The only semi decent  pic of us

Lots of pumpkins to play with!

One of the reasons Aubrey was crazy today was because she had LOTS of fun playing with Sadie last night when I babysat her. They stayed up late and played their hearts out! I got dizzy watching them run in circles:)

It is really hard to take pics of two kids. I am going to need to practice a lot before baby #2 comes!

The Miami Girls

I wanted to share some exciting news about our dear friends Pete and Jess Langley. Pete went to the Naval Academy with Nate and Jess and I met in Pensacola, FL while the guys were in flight school. We have lived in three different states together and they are like family to us!
Okay back to the exciting news.....Jess gave birth to twin girls on Monday Oct 12. Sarah weighed in at 6 lbs 14 oz and Sophia 5 lbs 10 oz. Jess did  a great job caring for the girls in utero and they came into this world healthy and strong! The main reason I wanted to share about the birth of Sarah and Sophia is because their Daddy is deployed right now. Jess and Pete are being strong but as you can imagine it is really hard not being together during this special time. I can't say when Pete will be coming home on the blog but the girls will be a little older, when he does it is going to be one sweet homecoming that's for sure! They are one of many families that sacrifice a lot to serve our country so we can live in the land of the free.  Congrats Langley's we love you guys!
Jess and the precious girls! Baby A is Sarah (left) baby B is Sophia (right)

I can't wait to hold them! Jess had the babies in Miami where family is to help.

Such a sweet moment!

The proud Daddy on the ship.

Jess sent Pete what he would be wearing in surgery so he could feel like he was at the hospital.

AHHH I can't believe I will be coming home to a house full of girls!

First Haircut

Today I took Aubrey to Pigtails and Crewcuts to get her first haircut! I have been debating on whether to get it trimmed for awhile now. Its at an awkward stage where if I don't pin it back with a bow it completely covers her face. I realize it has to go through an awkward stage to grow out but I thought by getting it trimmed it would get rid of some scraggly ends and clean it up a little.
The hairdresser was very surprised by how much hair Aubrey has growing in under her hair right now. She didn't want to cut bangs because there is so much hair growing in around her forehead and that is the hair that will need to be bangs.
Anyways, I thought she would cry and would be very difficult but she proved me wrong. She sat very still and was really good for the hairdresser.  It was a fun photo op but I don't think it made that big of a difference, I still can't believe I paid $16 for it, but it was a fun Saturday outing for us.
Waiting in the lobby for her name to be called.

Of course she picked the airplane as her chair. She says "airplane" now!

I still can't believe how still she was.

Being a good turtle.

Daddy would be so proud of his little pilot.

Veggie Bagel

Lately I have been craving two things...bagels and veggie sandwiches. I understand the bagel part but not really the veggie sandwich. I didn't have cravings with Aubrey but this child seems to make me crave things in between bouts of nausea!  Anyways, I was looking at The Pioneer Woman cooking blog (love her you should make some of her recipes if you never have) and I stumbled upon this beauty.
I made it today and it was delicious. I know its more of a summer food but my taste buds didn't mind. Here is the link to the actual recipe. Oh and I couldn't find sprouts so I didn't use them and subbed the lettuce for spinach.

Norfolk Zoo

This was our last weekend with daddy for awhile. So before he left for Top Gun we took a family trip to the Zoo on Saturday. I was glad to take Aubrey back now that she is older and can actually see the animals. We had such a great time and Aubrey loved seeing all the animals we read about in books every day. Its hard to say what her favorite was but she got really excited to see the Giraffes and the Prairie Dogs (random but they were really active and fun to watch!).
Welcome to the Zoo!!

First stop the Giraffes!
All excited from looking up through the half globe where you see the Prairie Dogs.

Watching the Elephants eat their breakfast. She sure loves her Daddy!

Mommy and Aubs in front of the Lions, ROAR!

Watching the birds fly around. She loves birds, I however despise all birds. Sorry all you bird lovers out there.

Saying MOO to the brown Cow!

She wasn't so sure about getting up close and personal with the brown cow.

Contemplating the Bongo

Our little turtle had to get a picture on this guy!

I am going to be a.......

We are so excited to tell everyone that we are expecting baby #2 to arrive in April! I am a few days shy of 13 weeks along and am starting to feel better. I have to say my first trimester with Aubrey was easy but this time around things have been totally different. For the first 10 weeks I had 24-7 nausea and felt exhausted every day. Lately the nausea starts around 9 pm pretty bad! I need a nap every day too so lets just say things around the house are not exactly getting done! I have friends that had much worse nausea than me so I shouldn't complain, it's just my first pregnancy was so different so it was a little shocking at first.
If the baby comes on the due date April 20, Aubrey will be 23 months old.  I am a little anxious about having a two year old and a new baby.  Aubs and I have our schedule down to a science but things are probably going to change a lot when the new baby comes.
I get more excited every day though and can't wait for Aubrey to have a brother or sister to play and grow up with.  We feel very blessed for our new miracle!
Here is the baby's first ultrasound, lets just say he/she has a lot more room to roll around in than Aubs did!
