In early June, we loaded up our new family of four into our new (to us) Tahoe for a roadtrip to Nate's homeland...Iowa. Yes, Nate was born in Des Moines, IA -- not a true Texan like yours truly:) Anyway, 24 hours later, after butting heads with the GPS, and polishing off 2 gallons of hand sanitizer from taking a 2yo thru hundreds of gas station bathrooms, we pulled into Aunt Deb and Jon's place in Ankeny. We enjoyed a few relaxing days with Pa's side of the family and introduced the girls to their Great-Grandma Donna. Then it was northbound-35 to Clear Lake, IA to see Mimi's side. There we went to cousin Jen's wedding-- it was a beautiful outdoor wedding on their family's farm with a great reception complete with a bonfire and BBQ. Aubrey ruled the dancefloor with her patented spin move and had tons of fun dancing with the Dykema girls. The next day, Great Grandma Orthel took us to see Great-GREAT Grandma Bowers. It was a special moment to see her holding baby Reagan and watching Aubs share her cheerios with her only double-great Grandmother!
