Wild Horse Adventure

On Labor Day we took a day trip to the Outer Banks, NC.  It was only a 2hr drive to get there, then another 30 minutes to Corolla, NC where we went to see the Wild Spanish Mustangs.  We did a guided tour in a Jeep and saw about 25 horses roaming around the sand dunes on the beach.   To get where they live there are no roads, you have to have four wheel drive to get through the soft sand.  Afterwards we spent some time relaxing on the beach.  Fun family memories!

Aubs is ready to go see some real ponies.

Reags is a Jeep girl, pointing out the Ocean in case anybody missed it.

Where the blacktop ends...

Girlies playing on the dunes.

First horse sighting! Many of the females were VERY pregnant, pretty soon lots of Foals will be running around!

The girls had a blast trying to find the wild horses!

The wild horses will sometimes hang out around the beach houses, we were surprised how many homes were in this part of Corolla with no roads and very difficult to access. Lots of privacy I guess!

Aubrey thinks she sees a horse! A few seconds later we saw tons of dolphins jumping out of the ocean, there was a huge group of them!
Drove through a light rain shower (with the top down!) on the way back but Reags slept through it.

Labor Day lounging

Ready for some Cowboy Football!

Reags is a true beach baby!

They claim to be "making coffee"
