Apple Picking at Martin Vineyards

Last weekend Nate and I were so excited to take the girls Apple picking about 45 minutes away in Knotts Island NC. I had a list of recipes I was going to make with our fresh picked apples. As we pulled into the Apple Orchard the owner came up to us and said the Apples came in about two weeks early this year and they didn't have any left. They have a huge orchard and every single apple was gone! I was so disappointed but the trip was salvaged because the girls got to pick their own pumpkin off a vine in the pumpkin patch and we were allowed to go picking in their private garden. The owners let us fill up a bag as much as we could for $10. At the end of the afternoon Nate and I were able to do a wine tasting which was a bonus! I love muscadine grapes and the owner makes Muscadine wine which was delish! It's a sweet wine that Nate and I both really enjoyed.
